We loved collaborating on Ashley & Andy’s Leelanau Barn Wedding. Andy has deep roots in the area (we worked together at the Riverside many moons ago!). These two couldn’t be more mellow, adventurous and fun loving. Their vision for the wedding was to be surrounded by friends and family in a pretty setting with delicious food. They are currently between San Francisco and Alaska so planing was all done remotely, which is one of our specialities. Cheers to you both and many well wishes as you embark on your life as husband & wife.
A Q & A with the Bride:
Where do you currently live?
What is your connection to Leelanau County?
Family. Andy grew up in Leelanau county.
Briefly describe your style as a couple.
Outdoorsy and adventurous.
Describe the look & feel of your wedding.
Relaxed, rustic with a touch of elegance.
What did you want your guests to take away from this experience?
We were so excited about bringing our two families together, and having so many of our favorite people all in one place at one time. We wanted them to relax, have fun, meet each other and enjoy the great food, wine and beautiful surroundings.
What, if any, were your big stressors during the planning process?
We stuck with recommended vendors which made the planning process easy.
What advice would you give to newly engaged couples planning their wedding in Northern Michigan?
Keep it simple. One of the big reasons why we went with Cherry Basket was that they organized all the essential stuff. If you’re planning out of state like we were, this is a huge time saver.
