Leelanau County Farm Dinners

Cherry Basket Farm is an idyllic and private location for farm dinners.  We are proud to have two “Barn of the Year” recipients located on our historic farm, and look forward to sharing them with you.

The first is a restored hog barn, converted into a state of the art commissary and the home of Epicure Catering. With space for 16 guests, the chef’s table in our kitchen provides an intimate farm to table dining experience for you and your guests while being close to all the action. Located outside the commissary is our outdoor patio, which features an in-ground oven that doubles as a fire pit, and plenty of comfortable seating. The commissary was built in two stages, the first being in 1889 and the second to follow around the turn of the century.

The second is our gable-end, or “lower” barn, built in 1890, which was the original barn on the property before the larger, gambrel roof structure was added in 1910. The Lower Barn opens on both ends, with a view of fields and orchards to the north and the farmyard to the south. This structure has also been fully restored, with exposed rafters and whitewashed foundation surrounding the guest seating.

Should you choose and weather permits, there are numerous lovely outdoor options for dining as well. We will collaborate with you to design a delicious farm dinner menu based upon the bounty offered by the Leelanau Peninsula, an agricultural gem. With its architectural character and gorgeous views, the farm is sure to be a memorable setting for your next small dinner party. For more information, please contact us.

Thank you for your interest in Cherry Basket Farm. We look forward to hosting you!
