We had such a blast collaborating with Sarah & Kim! They are so laid back and truly just wanted to throw a relaxed party for close friends and family to celebrate their love. Laid back and relaxed is our jam! Sarah was kind enough to answer some questions about the event below. Cheers to you both, we loved working with you and wish you well in all future endeavors together! xoxo
What is your connection to Leelanau County?
Kim and I knew that we did not want to get married where we live currently or in the locations we grew up. We thought about the places that we had been together and had created special memories, and instantly, we both came up with the Traverse City area, which was one of the first places we vacationed as a couple. The beauty, the food/alcohol (we have become lovers of wine and cider!), and the location close to the water we love and not too far of a drive from our home drew us to the area.
Where do you currently live?
North Muskegon, MI
Briefly describe your style as a couple.
Relaxed, classic, traditional with some unique twists
Describe the look & feel of your wedding.
Our wedding was relaxed, fun, intimate, memorable, unique, and captured our love for each other. Throughout those 15 months planning, we felt we had created a day that was reflective of us by using vendors who didn’t see gender but just the love we had for each other. Vendors that we consider part of our circle of friends now. Our thoughts were confirmed that day as we were in awe of the magic that was accomplished as we celebrated intimately with about 50 of people we love and who love us. Our day was intimate, fun, relaxed, loving and filled with unique touches that were true to us. We decided from the beginning that we were going to “do us” and not stress over the small things. Planning from a few hours away was easier than we imagined it could be (thank goodness for the internet and Google!), and as we reflect upon the day, there wasn’t one thing we would have changed. Our guests are still talking about how amazing each detail was we had for our celebration and how much they enjoyed the day celebrating with us. It was a perfect day celebrating love.
What did you want your guests to take away from this experience?
A unique, fun, relaxed, romantic day that celebrated love, our love for each other.
